The Glendale Gun Shows have been cancelled.
This show was a regular event held in the same location for 20 years with no trouble at all.
However, in response to the agonizing tragedy of a highly disturbed young man shooting 20 school-children and 7 adults in an upscale area of Connecticut just a few days before Christmas, the Glendale City Council decided to make an ordinance against selling guns on city-owned property, which passed (against strongly rational arguments) on March 12, 2013.

We understand people's yearning to do SOMETHING to prevent violence, but riding an emotional tide aimed at guns and NOT at the actual perpetrators is also a tragedy.
No police officer patrolling the grounds could have arrived on the scene in time to prevent all of it. An argument CAN be made that any of the teachers themselves, properly trained and armed, might well have stopped it. They were certainly brave enough!
Mental health advocates have campaigned intensely to remind people that less than 4% of autistic people are prone to violence, so we should not be afraid of them.
Only about 3% of the general population comprise a criminal element --and far less than half of those are violent.
So dis-empowering the 98% of citizens who are law-abiding is neither effective nor even well-meaning. It's fatuous, unrealistic, irresponsible... and that is not The American Way.

Be kind
...and if you are one of those who can, please be able, armed, well trained.

PAUL R. KNIGHT, one of the founding partners of GunrunnersTactical, passed away in his sleep, January 24, 2008 at the age of 42.
Services were held February 1 at Douglas & Zook, Monrovia. Both the service and the viewing the night before were packed to standing room only with family and friends, offering respect and support to his wife Andrea and his son James.

FRIENDS OF THE NRA - CONFERENCE
January 26th 2008
The Friends of the NRA had their Annual "Kick-off" Conference for 2008 at the Aryes Hotel in Costa Mesa.
The former National Manager of Friends of the NRA and new managing Director of Field Operations for the NRA, Kyle Weaver were guest speakers.
Several key decision are made regarding advertising rates, prize solicitation, etc. so attendance is helpful.
The Friends of the NRA asks that at least two members from each committee attend.
